Origin: a technology breakthrough driven by manufacturing and logistics pain points

In 2017, Professor Zhou Jie's team at Tsinghua University's Computer Vision Laboratory received repeated requests from large enterprises: production lines could not reliably identify products under complex conditions, causing low efficiency and downtime risk. Smart warehousing was trapped in a hardware-first mindset where devices lacked effective perception. Determined to give machines the ability to truly see the world, the team left the lab. With a decade of vision algorithm expertise, Tsingh Technology was founded in Tsinghua Science Park. "Qing" reflects Tsinghua's technology lineage; "Tong" (pupil/vision) reflects our mission to equip machines with precise sight. In early 2018, the team spent four months upgrading the first logistics customer's inbound/outbound recognition workflow—reducing work from two people for one day to one machine in real time, and cutting error rates from 3% to 0.1%. That success established Tsingh Technology's reputation in smart warehousing.
